Why do you need to see my CareCard each time I come for a test?
The BC Ministry of Health Services requires patients to present a valid CareCard prior to having a medical service (a laboratory test for example) paid for by the Medical Services Plan. At BC Biomedical Laboratories, we also scan the CareCard to make sure we correctly label the samples we collect from you. Therefore, it is extremely important that you present your CareCard with each visit to help us with this critical task.
